Understanding the Standard

What Does "Heat Geek Standard" Actually Mean?

Heat Geek is an education platform that teaches engineers how to design and install heat pumps correctly. Their methodology is built on sound physics — and it's the same methodology we've always used at Magna Renewables.

Full Heat Loss Survey

Every property is different. A proper heat loss calculation (to MCS standards) ensures the heat pump is sized correctly — not over-specified to cover up a poor installation.

Low Flow Temperatures

Running at 40–50°C flow temperature instead of 60–65°C is the secret to heat pump efficiency. We design every system to run at the lowest possible flow temperature for maximum CoP.

Correct System Design

Radiator sizing, pipework, controls, and hot water cylinder selection all affect performance. We get the details right so your system delivers the efficiency it's rated for.

The Honest Comparison

Why Magna Goes Further Than the Rest

Many installers cut corners. Heat Geek exists to call that out. So do we — and we back it up on every job.

Our Engineering Process

Every Install Starts with the Maths, Not the Brochure

Before we install your heat pump, we calculate your home's heat loss room by room. That number drives every decision — pump size, radiator upgrades, flow temperature target, pipework upgrades and hot water demand. No guesswork. No oversizing. No wasted money.

01

Free Home Survey & Whole House Heat Loss Calculation

Our engineer visits your property and calculates the whole house heat demand using our dedicated design software.

02

Bespoke System Design

We specify the right heat pump, radiators, cylinder, and controls for your home — not a one-size-fits-all package.

03

Professional Installation

Our MCS-certified engineers install to the highest standard, ensuring the system runs at peak efficiency from day one.

04

Commissioning & Optimisation

We commission, test, and fine-tune your system — and we don't leave until the system is set up correctly, flow temperatures are dialled in and the homeowner understands exactly how the system works.

Your Savings

A Correctly Installed Heat Pump Saves More

The difference between a Heat Geek-standard install and a rushed job isn't just comfort — it's hundreds of pounds a year in wasted electricity. Our low-flow temperature designs consistently achieve CoP ratings of 3.5 or above.

  • Savings based on correct CoP, not marketing figures
  • Includes £7,500 BUS grant deduction
  • 10-year projection with energy price stability
